Access personalised study and academic skills advice

You can meet with a Learning Adviser on campus or online. Advisers are highly qualified staff who are available to help with:

  • adapting to university study and managing your workload
  • understanding academic study expectations and assignment requirements
  • developing academic writing skills for all types of assignments
  • improving academic reading, speaking and listening skills
  • referencing skills and demonstrating academic integrity.
What we don't offer
We can help you develop self-editing skills and grammar, but we can't edit or proofread your work.

Learning Adviser appointments are available to all foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students.

If you're a Graduate Research student, see GRIT for research study support.

Monday to Friday, 10am–4pm.

You can book at:

  • City East (Barr Smith South or Playford)
  • City West (Yungondi)
  • Magill (Q Building)
  • Mawson Lakes (Library C Building).

Appointments are also available via Zoom.

Appointments are 30 minutes.

Depending on availability, you can book one appointment at a time, up to four weeks in advance.

Our aim is to help you build your academic skills independently. To make sure all students have fair access, we don't provide ongoing or long-term support.

Learning Advisers can review your writing and advise on areas for improvement, but they can't:

  • proofread or edit your work
  • provide course content tutoring
  • give advice about study plans (what to study or changing courses)
  • grant assignment extensions.
