Course overview

This course aims to develop the students’ knowledge of pre-contract cost management including financial appraisal and cost planning of construction projects. Building upon concepts of quantity surveying practices introduced earlier, the course delves into pre-contract cost management stages in respect to industry standards for cost planning including financial appraisal, cost planning process evolving with the building design and design economics. The learners will develop analytical thinking, effective communication and economic consideration and interpretation skills required for a cost planner. This course intents to provide further understanding and knowledge on cost management of construction projects to continue in the program.
