Course overview
Research Techniques to Investigate Human Disease aims to provide students with a foundational understanding of current medical research fields and technologies. The course content includes examples of biological and pathological processes at a cellular, anatomical and systems level. Content also includes examples of how scientific research and methodology is applied to investigate these. The course aims to develop and improve skills such as critical thinking, critical evaluation and analysis, academic writing, and an understanding of considerations to be made when planning and conducting research by covering the limitations and applications of techniques as well as ethical considerations. The course aligns with the programs intent to better prepare students for employment in research, diagnostic or clinical settings as well as postgraduate research training by enhancing their understanding of medical research in different medical disciplines.
