Course overview

This course aims to provide students with the opportunity to combine workplace/research experience with academic study in their major area. Building on foundational knowledge introduced in the first two years of study in their majors, the course requires students to complete research integrated learning (RIL) or work integrated learning (WIL), where RIL involves research experience in a range of settings within the University and affiliate institutions; and WIL involves workplace experience in a range of government and non-government industry settings. By gaining experience in a workplace, students will apply their problem solving, ethical, teamwork, communication and critical reflection skills to allow them to develop in-demand transferable skills. This course aligns with the BBHS program's intent to increase work-readiness.
