Course overview
The aim of this course is to further broaden and enhance students’ understanding of social, environmental, and cross-cultural psychology, and introducing students to critical approaches in psychology related to real-world scenarios. Students will develop the skills and knowledge they gained in the Year 1 course, to further enhance their understanding of psychology as it applies to complex global challenges. The focus of this course will be to move beyond description, interpretation and application, to evaluate and critique both complex social systems and the theories used to understand them.

Course learning outcomes
- Apply critical social, environmental and cross-cultural psychological research to complex global challenges
- Apply reflective and reflexive practices when evaluating psychological knowledge claims
- Critically evaluate the social systems underpinning complex global challenges
- Collaborate with others to develop appropriate psychological research designs for exploring and addressing complex global challenges
- Evaluate the interpersonal skills of yourself and your peers
- Communicate understanding and consolidation of insights to a variety of audiences in written and oral formats
