Course overview

The objective of the course is to provide exposure to and have students apply a variety of accounting processes influenced by the accounting standards and conceptual framework and be exposed to fundamental theoretical conceptual issues surrounding the practice of financial accounting.

Course learning outcomes

  • Explain the principles of financial accounting and their application in business transactions
  • Apply Accounting Standards and the Conceptual Framework to basic issues experienced in the practice of financial accounting
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the financial accounting process by undertaking procedures required for both manual and computer-based accounting systems
