Course overview

To develop students' knowledge of materials and technologies required for the design, detailing, documentation, and fabrication of buildings of varying scales and complexities.

Course learning outcomes

  • Identify and interpret project performance requirements in response to user needs, site conditions, and material considerations
  • Apply design knowledge and skills to develop appropriate project responses to defined briefs
  • Demonstrate foundational understanding of fabrication methods and systems by applying workshop processes and material knowledge during project development
  • Work collaboratively to plan, document, and contribute to the delivery of a design and/or fabrication outcome
  • Produce a coherent and well-executed project output that reflects an applied understanding of materials, performance requirements, and fabrication methods
