Course overview

The course provides an immersive experience in landscape architecture through the analysis of critical case studies, focusing on the practical aspects of project conception, financing, design, construction, and management. It seeks to equip students with the skills to critically evaluate projects on social, economic, environmental, and aesthetic grounds, fostering a comprehensive understanding of professional practice in the field. Students may visit practice offices for talks, experience presentations of case studies by landscape architecture professionals, take part in Aboriginal workshops on traditional ecological knowledge and visit projects under construction for an immersive work- integrated learning experience.

Course learning outcomes

  • Critically examine ethical challenges in landscape architecture practices.
  • Evaluate the risk, collaborative, project and finance management processes of landscape architecture projects.
