Course learning outcomes
- Identify and contrast the structure, characteristics and function of microorganisms, their habitats and growth requirements in relation to health care settings.
- Analyse the factors involved in pathogenicity and virulence of microorganisms and how this relates to the infective process
- Critique and formulate surveillance and management of health care associated infection.
- Compare and assess local, national and international approaches to management of disease outbreaks
