To develop students’ ability to assess the financial situation of organisations and make informed managerial decisions by applying core financial concepts, analytical tools and relevant financial and behavioural theories. Students analyse financial performance, evaluate investment and financing alternatives, consider risk and uncertainty, and communicate evidence-based recommendations

Course learning outcomes
- Apply core financial principles, including cash flow, time value of money, valuation, risk and return, to managerial decisions
- Analyse financial statements and other financial information to assess an organisation’s financial position and the implications of management decisions
- Evaluate investment alternatives using capital budgeting, risk and scenario analysis techniques
- Evaluate financing alternatives using cost of capital, capital structure concepts and relevant financial theories
- Integrate financial analysis and relevant financial and behavioural theories to justify evidence-based managerial recommendations
