Course overview

The aim of the capstone ICT project is to develop a students' ability to effectively apply their technical expertise and professional competencies to deliver a project plan and prototype for an agreed artefact to a client while working within a project team. Through this approach, students will enhance their proficiency in project management, team organization, stakeholder management, and comprehension of enterprise governance practices.

Course learning outcomes

  • Produce high quality deliverables within a specific context through application of established domain knowledge and project management techniques.
  • Make a significant, evidence-based contribution to a project as part of a project team.
  • Justify and defend the final deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements and expectations, and effectively communicating the value proposition of the delivered artefact.
  • Reflect on the success of the project in terms of delivering the client artefact, evaluate individual contributions to the artefact's completion, and identify key learnings to enhance future project outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive product documentation and facilitate the handover process to the client and effectively communicating the value of your product to the client.
  • Communicate complex information and concepts to broad audiences.
  • Consider the cultural and ethical aspects of the project and justify the decisions made.
