Course overview

To provide students with a solid understanding of computing systems and how they interact with business needs, and an overview of cloud computing essentials and benefits.

By the end of the course, students will be able to apply diverse cloud services and cloud computing principles across different contexts and real-world scenarios.

Course learning outcomes

  • Discuss IT concepts using appropriate terminology, including evolution of IT, computer components, and operating systems.
  • Apply programming language concepts to solve problems.
  • Apply technology solutions including cloud computing, web development, productivity applications.
  • Explain how cybersecurity, ethics, privacy and corporate governance impacts information technology.
  • Describe diverse cloud computing models and contrast cloud computing advantages with conventional on-premises solutions.
  • Identify and implement the most appropriate cloud-base services including security, networking, compute, and storage.
  • Construct a working cloud IT infrastructure based on an existing on-premises design.
