Course learning outcomes

  • Identify young children’s (babies – toddlers - preschoolers) multi-modal communication of their mathematical understandings
  • Examine and identify young children’s intuitive construction of mathematical understanding and processes during numeracy experiences
  • Identify child-centered, play-based approaches appropriate for enhancing very young children’s mathematical understandings
  • Apply planning and evaluation strategies according to the EYLF planning cycle
