Course learning outcomes

  • This course aims to develop student’s understandings of the Humanities and Social Sciences learning area for the secondary years, with an emphasis on the History, Geography and Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business and associated knowledge, skills and pedagogical approaches.
  • Design lesson plans and learning sequences demonstrating evidence-informed pedagogies that support learning in Humanities and Social Sciences.
  • Develop a teaching plan for an out-of-school learning experience that is achievable, engaging and accessible.
  • Apply skills of reflection and critical analysis to a teaching and learning sequence.
