Course overview
This course supports preservice teachers to understand the curriculum frameworks commonly used in Australian schools and to use these curricula to plan effective lessons and units of work during placement.
Course learning outcomes
- Apply knowledge of current school curricula in Australia to lesson and unit planning
- Sequence learning within and across lessons and evaluate the effectiveness
- Use a range of appropriate classroom management practices that build positive relationships with students to facilitate wellbeing and engagement
- Plan for and implement a range of teaching practices including differentiation for diverse learning communities
- Design diagnostic, formative and summative assessments based on curriculum frameworks that enable feedback to students and produce effective assessment data for informing planning, teaching and reporting

If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
