This course introduces interdisciplinary pedagogies and content knowledge for the Arts Education learning areas: Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music, and Visual Arts.

Course learning outcomes

  • Employ knowledge of Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music and Visual Arts in the Arts curriculum
  • Document and plan authentic Arts learning experiences, using a range of resources including technologies
  • Apply an understanding of the cultural diversity within classrooms and communities in Australia, and in the local context, to understand and value the perspectives of diverse groups including EAL/D and First Nations students
  • Apply an understanding of the contribution of The Arts to learners' wellbeing
  • Understand the concept of ongoing intercultural development and the importance of self-reflection and reflexivity as ever-evolving career practices
