Course overview
This course equips students with practical industrial design skills and knowledge for workplace settings. Through active participation, observation, reflection, and WIL simulations or experience, students strengthen their discipline-specific learning. By course completion, students will have gained core design concepts, ethical awareness, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities. The course aligns with program goals related to broad knowledge, ethical responsibility, synthesis, communication, initiative, and self-reflection.

Course learning outcomes
- Critically analyse aesthetic contexts within industrial design projects, considering cultural influences and ethical implications
- Apply core design knowledge to analyse design solutions that balance aesthetics, ergonomics, and sustainability.
- Analyse and develop sustainable design responses considering environmental impact and material selection.
- Effectively communicate the design and professional experience through presentations and visual communication.
- Exhibit initiative and judgement in planning, problem-solving, and decision-making within professional practice.
