Course overview

This immersive full semester course, delivered on-site at Rising Sun Pictures, will build upon students’ existing visual effects knowledge, and familiarises students with professional practice in the visual effects industry, providing the theory, skills, and techniques to produce industry-standard dynamic effects simulations and photorealistic lighting applications. Students will also develop a visual effects showreel and resume in addition to gaining practical, hands-on experience with industry mentoring.

Course learning outcomes

  • Critically analyse and review the professional dynamic effects pipeline.
  • Apply key tools and techniques within industry standard software to generate professional quality dynamic effects sequences.
  • Apply key tools and techniques within industry standard software to generate professional quality photorealistic lighting sequences.
  • Plan and effectively manage a program of work to meet a production brief and its deadline, through iterative project submission and review.

  • Must be undertaking BVIEF Bachelor of Visual Effects AND the student must have achieved at least 72 units prior to enrolment
