Equip students with the necessary skills to safely and competently perform health, exercise and sport-related physiological assessments. Further, the students will be able to apply knowledge of the physiological effects of exercise and training to the evaluation of assessment outcomes.

Course learning outcomes
- Describe the integrated physiological responses and adaptations to acute and chronic exercise in normal and various environmental conditions, and by external influences.
- Identify and explain the common processes and select relevant equipment required to safely conduct accurate and individualised health, exercise and sport-related assessments.
- Explain the scientific rationale, purpose, reliability, validity, calibration, assumptions and limitations of common health and exercise assessments and practices.
- Safely conduct individualised exercise and health assessments, including the identification, management and reporting of contraindications, adverse signs and symptoms.
- Interpret, explain and analyse physiological data obtained during health and exercise assessments, and compare such data between time-points, individuals and populations.
- Record, analyse and interpret information from assessments and normative data, and effectively communicate the results in written and/or verbal formats to support clients and service users in understanding assessment outcomes.
