Course overview

This course aims to introduce students to key concepts in waking movement behaviours (physical activity and sedentary behaviour), including definitions, metrics and guidelines. This course provides foundational knowledge relating to the interactions and relationships between physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and health in different populations. Students will develop an extensive knowledge base relevant to movement behaviours and health, in addition to the ability to apply guidelines to optimise waking movement behaviours in a range of populations. This course aligns with the programs intent to produce graduates who are knowledgeable and can think critically and ethically within exercise science and human movement practice.
