Course overview

To provide students with an overview of tissue structure in normal and abnormal states and relate tissue structural changes to the clinical associations that occur in disease.

Course learning outcomes

  • Interpret and apply appropriate terminology to anatomical planes and directions.
  • Differentiate between normal and abnormal tissue structure.
  • Relate abnormal tissue structure with clinical manifestations.
  • Describe the preparation (`cut-up') of surgical specimens for histological analysis.
