Course overview
To equip students with the theoretical foundations, research knowledge, and practical skills required to develop and support digital literacy capabilities in diverse user groups and contexts. Students will be introduced to key frameworks and research methodologies in digital literacy. They will examine current studies that inform an understanding of how to support the development of digital literacy in library and information environments—including teaching different age groups, instructional design, copyright and plagiarism, effective presentations, technology-enhanced learning, user experience and user-centred design, lifelong learning, and emerging trends in digital literacy.

- Demonstrate an understanding of the major theoretical and methodological approaches to studies of digital literacy.
- Apply digital literacy theory and practice in library and information settings.
- Analyse digital literacy in libraries and information settings.
- Demonstrate an awareness of emerging and topical issues in information and digital literacy research and evaluation of programs.
- Develop and prepare a grant application in libraries and information setting.
