Course overview
This course will address legal issues of contemporary significance, with a general focus on commercial, comparative, international and/or European law. The course is designed to be flexible in order to accommodate content that may vary from year to year, as well as the potential involvement of visiting scholars and experts. The intended content for each year will be published by the Law School before enrolments commence for that year
Course learning outcomes
- Undertake legal research at a high level of complexity, especially in relation to the operation and interaction of legal regimes relevant to international and security law.
- Employ advanced skills in international and domestic legal interpretation to resolve complex legal problems.
- Analyse intricate factual scenarios relevant to international and security law, identify the relevant legal issues arising from those scenarios, and generate practical solutions that may address them.
- Effectively structure and articulate legal arguments relevant to international and security law orally and in writing.
- Identify and evaluate relevant ethical, moral and cultural issues relevant to international and security law, and demonstrate personal and professional judgement in addressing these issues.
