Course overview
This course is designed to meet the accreditation standards and performance outcomes of the APC Standards for Pharmacist Prescribing Programs. These courses will require the learner to demonstrate prescribing competency for simulated and real patients with components of WIL in this offering.
Course learning outcomes
- Deliver care that aligns with the legal, ethical, and professional standards.
- Apply the person-centred prescribing process to define the needs of the consumer.
- Perform clinical examinations and assessments to identify a person's needs
- Apply clinical reasoning and a person-centred approach to achieve well-informed, shared prescribing decisions
- Communicate clearly and effectively with consumers and care providers to facilitate safe and effective use of medicines
- Document clear, legal, and effective records relating to prescribing decisions
- Define and communicate a person-centred plan for monitoring and review to support ongoing safe and effective use of medicines
