Course overview
This course seeks to develop your understanding of how living and working in rural and remote Australia can impact health and wellbeing outcomes. It will explore public health responses to health needs within communities. You will hear from Indigenous perspectives as you are invited to apply equity frames to explore Indigenous health and wellbeing. In this course you will develop critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to appraise models of rural and remote health: strategies, policies and service delivery.

Course learning outcomes
- Describe the influence of rurality and remoteness on the health of individuals and communities
- Evaluate health issues faced by rural and remote Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Australia with appropriate conceptual frameworks
- Critically describe rural and remote health service models and health strategies
- Identify equity and human rights approaches to health and wellbeing in rural and remote settings.
