Course overview

Formally known as the Workplace Project Portfolio, the aim of this course is that the student gains practical experience, usually in workplace settings, in the application of knowledge and skills learnt during the coursework of the Master's program. The student will usually provide evidence of having met this goal by presenting a portfolio or thesis made up of a preface and project reports. Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate understanding of the ethical and integrity issues that may face a biostatistician in professional practice.
  • Develop a research question and associated biostatistical analysis plan in an area of health or medical sciences.
  • Perform data integrity checks and appropriate statistical analyses to address the research question.
  • Communicate the results and their interpretation in oral and written form suitable for a clinical research audience.

  • Must have completed all of BIOL5027 Data Management and Statistical Computing/BIOL5035 Regression Modelling for Biostatistics I

Corequisite(s)

  • If the following course has not already been completed THEN must be enrolled in BIOL6038 Regression Modelling for Biostatistics II
