Course overview
Students will develop their knowledge of contemporary research practice and philosophical underpinnings of research methodologies, with a specialised knowledge for social work. The course covers qualitative and mixed method evaluation research processes, which include developing a literature review, considering research ethics, constructing research questions, analysing data and social policy, emphasising critical and creative research designs and methods and writing a research proposal. Students will be engaged in considering different methods and methodologies for different population groups, highlighting ethical considerations about research with First Nations communities.
