Course overview
This course will consolidate students' competency in professional practice reflecting the integration of social work values, knowledge and skills. Students will undertake a supervised placement opportunity to further develop their social work skills, practice and knowledge to a graduate level.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate graduate-level skills and knowledge in meeting all AASW Practice Standards
- Demonstrate graduate-level competence in professional behaviour, including respect for others in the workplace, emotional regulation, and the ability to respond to constructive feedback
- Demonstrate graduate-level competence in critically analysing and applying under supervision the values and ethics of social work in the practice setting
- Demonstrate graduate-level competence to engage with clients and stakeholders in theory-informed interventions that serve the interests of the client or stakeholder
- Demonstrate graduate-level competence to develop, implement and critically reflect upon an intervention plan
- Demonstrate graduate-level skills to work collaboratively and inter-professionally within and across organisational boundaries on behalf of clients to achieve social change
