There are no specific subject prerequisites. Applicants must secure a position with a participating host employer as a condition of admission to the degree apprenticeship. All prospective applicants are required to submit an Expression of Interest and participate in an interview process with the prospective employer before being considered for the program.

Admission criteria

Domestic applicants must meet the standard Adelaide University entry requirements for the Bachelor of Business (Project Management), including completion of Year 12 (SACE or equivalent), TAFE/VET awards, higher education qualifications, or equivalent qualifications. A guaranteed entry ATAR of 70 applies, consistent with the standard Bachelor of Business. In addition, applicants must secure a position with a participating host employer as a degree apprentice, submit an Expression of Interest, and participate in an employer interview process as part of the admissions pathway. Relevant workplace experience supports but does not replace the academic entry requirements.

What you'll learn

This degree combines business fundamentals with specialist project management knowledge and extensive workplace learning.

You'll begin by building core business skills in economics, management, marketing and business law, alongside the foundations of project management. As your studies progress, you'll develop expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, methodologies and the tools used to deliver successful projects.

You will learn how to identify and manage project risks, work effectively with stakeholders, oversee procurement and resources, and coordinate projects across complex organisations. You'll also explore logistics, infrastructure, sustainability and systems thinking, helping you understand how projects create value across industries.

A defining feature of this degree is its hybrid learning model. Five courses integrate your university studies with supervised workplace learning, allowing you to apply classroom concepts directly to real organisational projects while receiving guidance from both academic staff and experienced industry mentors.
