The Professional Certificate in Allergy Nursing provides an understanding of the role of the allergy nurse, the allergic process and allergic disease and the varying manifestations in both children and adults.
The course prepares nurses to be an integral part of the interprofessional team to enable consumers and their families to be supported, confident and to persevere with their treatment and care plans. Emphasis is placed n best evidence and on providing opportunities for nurses to become effective and critical consumers of research information available in the field of allergy. Students who successfully complete the course will be awarded a Certificate and may be eligible for credit in other tertiary programs.

- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide evidence-based client and peer teaching related to the management of allergic conditions: encompassing prevention, early recognition and intervention, treatment and management strategies and allergy care plans
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills and attitudes to practise competently as an allergy nurse in a variety of settings.
