The Order of Australia Association Foundation Ltd has created two scholarships to support the next generation of leaders by helping promising young Australians to achieve their potential for the benefit of future generations of Australians.
These scholarship will support students undertaking a Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Engineering & Technology or Minerals & Mining Engineering who have demonstrated high academic achievement and show potential to become outstanding and prominent Australians.
The Foundation will also offer the Scholarship recipients the opportunity of an ongoing mentor relationship with a member of The Order of Australia who is eminent in the awardee’s chosen field of study.
Value: $22,500 per year, for two years

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
- Be enrolled in your first degree and not have previously completed a degree
- In 2026, be undertaking and completing the second year of your Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Engineering and Technology or Minerals and Mining Engineering
- Be undertaking the third year of your Bachelors degree in 2027
- Be enrolled on a full-time basis
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Be 18 or in your 20’s. In exceptional circumstances, some may be considered up to early 30’s
- Have demonstrated high academic achievement in their tertiary studies
- Have demonstrated qualities of leadership, initiative and involvement in community affairs
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Demonstrated high academic achievement
- Demonstrated qualities of leadership, initiative and involvement in community affairs, both at University and during high school years
- Intended use of their degree and/or community involvement to benefit Australia in future years
- Demonstrate the benefit of receiving this scholarship to complete their degree
- Demonstrate the benefit from the guidance of a mentor from The Order of Australia who is eminent in their chosen field of study
Important information
- You must meet all the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- Recipients may have the opportunity to work with a mentor who has received an Award in The Order of Australia and who is eminent in the recipients chosen field of study
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship
- One scholarship will be awarded to a student undertaking a degree in the area of Engineering and Technology
- One scholarship will have the preference for a student undertaking a degree in the area of Minerals and Mining Engineering.
