Millie Hay Joyner bequeathed funds to establish the The M.F. and M.H. Joyner Art Scholarships, to promoting the study and practice or pursuit of the pictorial sculptural and plastic fine arts.
This scholarship is designed to provide funds for the necessary instructional fees, travelling, and living expenses of the selected student.
The successful applicant of this scholarship will receive a stipend of $65,114 per annum, paid fortnightly for up to 3 years.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:
- be an Australian citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident; and
- be commencing or be eligible to commence a Graduate Research program in Fine Arts in the year for which the scholarship is being awarded at Adelaide University; and
- be undertaking a full time load of study.
Selection criteria
The scholarship will be awarded via a competitive selection process managed by the Adelaide University Graduate Research School, based on academic merit, research potential, benefit to the applicant’s graduate research program and relevance to Fine Arts.Important information
For the purposes of this scholarship ‘Fine Arts’ is determined to be applications from the following areas of study:
- Pictorial (drawing, painting, printmaking, photography)
- Plastics
- New media
- Jewellery
- Textiles
- Sculptural
- Film
- Performance
- Digital media
- Glass
Note: Art history, curatorial studies or drama are NOT considered Fine Arts for the purposes of this scholarship.
