The Leahurst Nurses’ Foundation Nursing Placement Scholarship was established at Adelaide University in 2026 by the Leahurst Nurses’ Foundation Incorporated.
The Foundation’s objective is to further the nursing and midwifery professions in South Australia. This includes providing financial support to nurses and midwives undertaking further development, as well as nursing and midwifery students in enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The Leahurst Nurses’ Foundation Nursing Placement Scholarship will support students enrolled in the third year of the Bachelor of Nursing at Adelaide University and undertaking their final clinical placement.
Value: $2,000 paid in one instalment.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, Permanent residents of Australia, Holders of a permanent humanitarian visa or international students
- Be enrolled on a part-time or full-time basis in the third year of the Bachelor of Nursing at Adelaide University and
- Be undertaking the final clinical placement
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to a written statement (maximum 300 words) addressing:
- Career goals within the next 3-5 years following graduation;
- Status as an international student and/or refugee;
- How the scholarship will help alleviate financial pressure;
- Any community involvement and extracurricular activities; and
- The name of any other scholarships or grants held or pending.

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students in receipt of other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
