SABRENet Ltd is a not-for-profit public company dedicated to enhancing South Australia's education, research and innovation landscape. With a mission to strengthen academic and research capabilities, SABRENet operates a fibre network that facilitates specialist broadband and related services for its members and customers, which include Adelaide University.
This Scholarship has been established by SABRENet Ltd to support Graduate Researchers in Electrical Engineering, Photonics and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) with travel costs associated with undertaking their research, including but not constrained to attending and presenting at conferences.
The successful candidate will receive a once-off payment of up to $2,500 for international conference travel, and up to $1,000 for domestic conference travel.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must be:
- an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, Permanent Humanitarian visa holder, or international student; and
- enrolled part-time or full-time in a Doctor of Philosophy or Master of Philosophy program in the areas of Electric Engineering, Photonics or Geospatial Information Systems at Adelaide University.
Candidates who are members of staff or who have received other funding for the travel are not eligible for the Scholarship.
Selection criteria
The scholarship will be awarded via a competitive selection process managed by the Adelaide University Graduate Research School, based on academic merit, research potential, benefit of travel to the applicant’s Graduate Research program and relevance to Electric Engineering, Photonics or Geospatial Information Systems.Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a travel scholarship.
