In 1954, Eleanor Kate Barker bequeathed funds to the University for the purpose of establishing a scholarship(s) for graduate research students studying medicine. Today The John Barker Research Scholarship in Medicine supports graduate research students undertaking research in medicine with their research, education and living costs.
The value of the this scholarship is a $12,000 once off payment for the successful applicant.
No extensions will be considered.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must be:
- An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand Citizen, Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder or international student;
- Have commenced or be eligible to commence a full-time Doctor of Philosophy or Master of Philosophy program in the year for which the scholarship is being awarded in the College of Health and school of Medical Sciences.
Selection criteria
The scholarship will be awarded via a competitive selection process managed by the Adelaide University Graduate Research School, based on academic merit, research potential and relevance of academic research.How to apply
