To support your success during your time at the University of Adelaide, we are pleased to provide all students with the below technology resources. 
 

 

Setting Up your Digital Essentials

  • ✓ Your University of Adelaide Account


    Every student is provided with a University account. You will use this account to access all University IT resources. Your account is in the format of your student number followed by @adelaide.edu.au e.g. a1234567@adelaide.edu.au

    To activate your account, you will need to know your student number. When you are ready to activate, click here.

    Please note that as part of the account activation process, you will be prompted to set up Multi Factor Authentication, which you can read more about below. 
     

  • ✓ Multi Factor Authentication


    You will be prompted to set up Multi Factor Authentication when activating your University account. This adds an extra layer of security to your account to protect both you and the University. 

    You can use the University’s OKTA Verify app, your preferred authentication app including Google Authenticate, Microsoft Authenticator, or Apple Passwords.

  • ✓ Email Address


    Your University email address will be the same as your University account username
    e.g. a1234567@adelaide.edu.au

    You can set up this email account on your personal devices using Microsoft Outlook, or your preferred application/s.
     

  • ✓ University Wireless Network (Internet/WiFi)


    You can access the internet on campus by connecting to the University’s WiFi network from your personal devices, including laptop, phone and tablet.

    To connect, select the UofA network from the list of wireless networks and log in using your University account. Alternatively, open the Quick Connect Tool on the device you want to connect by clicking here

    Microsoft 365 (Office)

    Current students have free access to all key Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint and Forms, as well as OneDrive where you can store files. 

    You can access the applications online or install the software locally on your device/s.

    EndNote

    Endnote is the University's recommended reference management application. To request your free licence click here
     

    Qualtrics

    All students are able to create surveys using the Qualtrics platform. To access your account click here, and login with your University account.
     

    Adobe Creative Cloud

    Adobe provides significantly discounted Creative Cloud subscriptions to students and teachers, which you can see by clicking here
     

    Zoom

    All students have access to a Zoom account. To access your Zoom account, click here and log in with your University account. 
     

    LinkedIn Learning

    All students at the University of Adelaide have unlimited access to an extensive range of free online learning videos to support professional and personal skills development. To access LinkedIn Learning, click here.
     

    Specialised Software

    Other software available to students includes ArcGIS, IBM SPSS Stastistics and AMOS, Matlab, Nvivo and Stata. For information about these click here. 

 

More IT Services for Students

  • Printing


    All students are provided with $18 of free printing every six months (periods begin 1 January and 1 July). You can see a list of printing costs by clicking here. Students can top up their quota if needed once they have used their $18 quota by clicking here

    To print a document your device will need to be connected to the University's WiFi network, and you will need to print to the Follow-You-Print-Q. On the nearest printer you can then scan your Student ID card or login using your University account to release the print job.

  • File Storage

    OneDrive

    Students can store files on OneDrive using their Microsoft 365 account. To access your account click here, then log in with your University account. 
     

    Box

    All current students are able to store files on the Box platform. To access your account click here and login with your University account. 
     

  • University Computer Suites

    There are a number of Student Computer Suites available across the University of Adelaide for students who need to use a computer.

    Students requiring assistance to obtain a personal device needed for study may consider applying for a scholarship.

  • Remote Access to the University's Network

    Students can connect to a University computer from their personal device using ADAPT

    Alternative, you can access the University network via VPN

There are menu options specifically for student and MyUni support. 
 


Ask for support online using the MyIT Portal.

Log into the portal using your University account. 
 


Visit the Tech Crew at North Terrace Campus for in person support. As this is a walk-up service, bookings are not required.

  • What is my student number?


    Your student number, also known as your a number or student id number will be included in the welcome email sent to you by the University of Adelaide after you have accepted your offer. 

    If you can't find your student ID number, contact Ask Adelaide by clicking here
     

  • How do I get a student ID card?


    Enrolled students can request their new card to be issued, or a lost or stolen card to be replaced, by contacting Ask Adelaide.
