Adelaide City Campus East covers the expanse between North Terrace, Frome Rd and Victoria Drive.  
Different buildings will have different activities and presentations – check the local map to find what activities will interest you.  

Fresh, affordable food and beverage options are available to suit all tastes and dietary needs including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free.

Coffee & Crepes - When: 8:00am – 3:00pm Where: North Terrace

Coffee & Crepes brings together two beloved elements of French café culture: delicate, sweet (or savory) crepes and rich espresso-based coffee.

Mrs Sippy Mobile Coffee and Bar x 2 - When: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Vintage Coffee Caravan and Bar, SA small business and family owned. Locally sourced products using B3 Coffee Beans and a range of alternative milks such as oat, almond, soy, and lactose free. All served in BioPak packaging and with delicious Saudade Portuguese tarts.

Paella Bar - When: 10:00am – 4:00pm Where: Cloisters

SA owned family business. Mobile caterer specialising in Spanish paella. Serving delicious chicken & veg and vegetarian (vegan) paellas. All paellas are gluten, dairy, soy and nut free. Coeliac friendly.

Braising Boy Tacos - When 9:00am – 4:00pm Where: Cloisters

A food truck offering ‘tacos the way they were meant to be eaten’ with bold, messy, and flavour-packed LA style street food. They take pride in handmade preparation, using ingredients sourced from Mexico and fresh SA Produce. Their menu includes slow-braised meats and house-made salsas.

Sozas Sri Lankan Street Food - When 9:00am – 4:00pm Where: Cloisters

A popular choice at many SA events. Offering a selection of wholesome and authentic Sri Lankan Food. Exotic Flavours and a variety of meat and vegetarian options.

Cheesy Street - When: 9:00am – 4:00pm Where: Cloisters

Famous for its loaded, melty, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, as well as serving a variety of signature and rotating sandwiches. Vegan and vegetarian options available

Caro Club - When 9:00am – 4:00pm Where: Cloisters

Specialising in burgers and brioche bun, buttermilk fried chicken burgers and sides.

Taikunthi - When 10:00am – 3.30pm Where: Level 5, Union House

Located on Level 5 of the newly renovated Union House, Taikunthi is a modern Australian restaurant, cafe and bar offering seasonal dishes, South Australian wines and barista-made coffee. Perfect for relaxed lunches or afternoon drinks. Dine in or take away - Taikunthi is open to everyone.

Canteen by Phonatic When: 10:00am – 3:00pm Where Hub Central

Vietnamese cuisine offering the best Vietnamese Pho along with Banh Mi Rolls, Rice Bowls, and Vermicelli Noodle Bowls.

Penang Hawkers Corner - When 10:00am – 3:00pm Where: Hub Central

Offering true Malaysian flavours among other Asian options sushi and bubble tea, this eatery offers ready-made dishes in the bain-marie and great lunchtime specials.

Grind and Press – When 8:30am – 4:00pm Where: Hub Central

Creating fresh, wholesome food, packaged up, ready to go.  Serving quality coffee and juices. 

Taste Baguette - When 7:00am – 4:00pm Where: Hub Central

True coffee professionals with a passion for coffee and serving hand crafted baguettes filled with freshly grilled meats and salads. A variety of salads, chips, and wedges will be also available.

Merantau Café When 8:00am – 3:00pm Where: Ingkarni Wardli building

Unique coffee, produced ethically, traded transparently. House made sandwiches using locally sourced ingredients. Authentic Indonesian cuisine in the hot cabinet. 

UNIBAR When 9:00am – 4:00pm Where: Union House

With seating that spills out into the Cloisters Courtyard and a licensed lawned area, the UniBar is the ideal spot to relax with friends on a lazy afternoon or settle in for an evening session. The UniBar is committed to showcasing the best local and Australian craft beverages at affordable prices and has a menu to match. The food offering includes classic pub-grub, sandos, hot snacks and salads. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available.

Parking is not available on campus. The closest nearby paid carparks are Wilson Parking facilities on North Terrace (251 North Terrace) or Centrepoint and Frome Road (Lot 14) .    
 

Yes – please check the Adelaide Metro website for the latest bus, train or tram timetable information from your location. 

Free public transport options within the CBD to this campus include the city tram (details below), and Routes 98A/C and 99A/C free city loop buses (Disembark at Stop G1 North Terrace – North side, or Stop T1 North Terrace – South side).  

One of the best ways to get to Open Day and travel between our city campuses is to take the free Adelaide Metro Tram. The tram stops out the front of both our City West and City East campuses. For more information, visit the Adelaide Metro website.

  • If you are currently at City East, take the Entertainment Centre or Royal Adelaide Hospital tram to the City West stop. 
  • If you are currently at City West, take the Botanic Gardens tram to the University stop

City East is our main hub for Health. You’ll be able to find out all information about Health degrees at our Study Hub and can explore facilities related to allied health and human performance (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, podiatry, outdoor and environmental leadership, human movement, exercise and sport science and clinical exercise physiology), nursing and midwifery, dentistry, medical radiation science, nutrition and food science, biomedical science, public health, and other facilities.

City West has presentations and activations for Medicine, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science. The Adelaide Health Simulation will also be open for you to explore, which includes facilities for our medicine degrees. 

We recommend you explore any facilities that pique your interest across both campuses to ensure you don’t miss out on anything. You can also get a glimpse of what other degrees within Health have to offer. 

Water stations are in the bottom of Centenary and Playford Buildings (Level 3) and in Student Lounges. 
Water stations can also be found at the Maths Lawns and Barr Smith Lawn.

Of course – it’s important to us that everyone can enjoy Open Day.  The City East campus has lifts and accessible access to all locations open on the day.  

The campus will have signage to direct you to key facilities. Helpful staff will also be around campus to guide you to your destination.

The University has a number of wheelchair accessible toilets on each of its campuses. These will be marked on the accessibility maps available at the welcome booth on the day.

Most lecture theatres and teaching spaces provide facilities such as wheelchair spaces, and many have wheelchair access points at the front and rear of the room. Hearing loops are available on campus in some lecture theatres to assist people using hearing aids.  

Accessible parking bays are located throughout each of the campuses. In the event all parking bays are occupied, Disability Permit holders can park in any accessible parking bay or plain white lined area, provided their permit from the Department of Transport is clearly displayed. The permit is not valid in yellow lined parking bays such as 15-minute bays, loading zones, or reserved spaces.

Key Areas: Medical Radiation Science facilities, Anatomy Lab

Access to the Anatomy Lab (Level 3) is via Playford Building Walkway. 

  1. Use the link between Centenary and Playford on Level 3 to enter Playford. 
  2. Continue down the hall until you reach the link between Playford and Bonython Jubilee to enter Level 3 of Bonython Jubilee. 

Access to Medical Radiation Science facilities (Level 1) is via Playford Building Walkway on Level 1. 

  1. Use the link between Centenary and Playford on Level 3 to enter Playford. 
  2. Continue down the hall in Playford and use the second lift (pass the main stairwell) to Level 1. 
  3. Use the walkway (across the driveway) into Level 1 of Bonython Jubilee. 

Key Areas: Basil Hetzel Presentation room, Biology Lab, Chemistry Lab, Histopathology and Haematology Lab 

  1. Enter Basil Hetzel building from Frome Road (Biology Lab and presentation room are on this floor)
  2. Take the lift (outside of the Biology Lab) to the other floors in this building.

Key Areas: Nursing spaces, Midwifery spaces, High Performance Sport Centre

  1. Enter Centenary, moving towards the lecture theatre/volunteer hub.
  2. Take the lift to your respective floor. 

Key Areas: Commercial Kitchen and Physiology Lab

  1. Use the link between Centenary and Playford on Level 3 to enter Playford. 
  2. Take one of the two lifts (located on the left) to your respective floor. 

Please note the two lifts have different bottom floors.  

  1. If accessing Bonython Jubilee Level 1 – use the lift further down the hall (North).  

Key Areas: Allied Health Spaces: Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology and Podiatry spaces

  1. Enter Helen Mayo North via Frome Road
  2. Take the lift (left of entrance) to Level 4. 
  3. Turn immediately left upon existing the lift and follow the hall.  

Key Areas: Allied Health Spaces: Occupational Therapy

  1. Enter Santos Petroleum Engineering via the Frome Road end of the building.
  1. Take the lift to Level 4.
