2022 CET Research Day review
The CET held another very successful Research Day last Monday April 11, taking academics and industry partners for an off-campus experience at the Sanctuary Function Centre, Adelaide Zoo.
Could wave energy converters protect Australian coastlines?
An article outlining a collaborative project (ARC linkage) between researchers and industry partners from the University of Adelaide, Swinburne University, the University of New South Wales, Victoria’s Moyne Shire Council and Western Australia’s Mid West Ports Authority on wave energy converters for controlling coastal processes has been published in pv magazine this month.

CET research update from Dr Zhiwei Sun
Dr Zhiwei Sun was invited to give a presentation, entitled ‘Laser diagnostics for solar thermal energy utilisation and heavy industry decarbonisation’ at the first International Workshop on Laser Diagnostics and its Application for Renewable Energy and Climate, held by the PTB, Germany National Metrology Institute, March 8 – 9, 2022.

Fortescue Future Industries, Sparc Technologies and the University of Adelaide partner to tackle the future of clean energy
Sparc Technologies Ltd (ASX: SPN) has entered into binding agreements with global green energy company Fortescue Future Industries Pty Ltd (an entity of Fortescue Metals Group Ltd ASX: FMG) and the University of Adelaide, forming the Sparc Hydrogen Pty Ltd Joint Venture (Sparc Hydrogen).

IEA report on low-carbon clean energy transition is now available
The International Energy Agency (IEA) report on low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia for the decarbonisation of the power sector was launched this week on Wednesday October 6, 2021, at the 1st International Conference on Fuel Ammonia, part of the Tokyo “Beyond Zero” Week organised and hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan.

Adelaide hosts successful forum on Hydrogen Production Technologies
The HyPT-2 Forum was held virtually, as 6 webinars over 3 days, running from September 14-16, 2021. The keynote speakers and panellists were drawn from nine countries around the world, 28 of the 38 speakers from a range of industry and research settings were from overseas, from countries such as the US, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Israel and Japan, the remaining 10 speakers from Australia, were drawn from across the country.
