"Preserving Biodiversity" Research Tuesdays Recap

Held earlier this month, Environment Institute Director Professor Andy Lowe presented a seminar at the University of Adelaide's Research Tuesdays. His topic focused on Biodiversity loss, a crisis our world can no longer afford to ignore. This impacts all aspects of life from air, water. food to fuels and natural disasters. Invasive species continue to threaten and drive our countries native mammals towards extinction, so how can we prevent them? What can we do to better strengthen our ecosystems and our native species?
Professor Andy Lowe discusses in this talk how tackling invasive species can vary from wildlife crime, policy shaping, and even using DNA editing to combat the invasive species. To watch his presentation and hear the ways invasive species are being combatted, followed by a panel discussion featuring Professor Michelle Waycott, Dr Adam Toomes, and Professor Paul Thomas, click the link below.
