University of Adelaide welcomes Indonesian International Study Mobility Awards students
The University of Adelaide recently welcomed 14 students from the Indonesian International Study Mobility Awards (IISMA) sponsorship program to study at the University in Semester 2.
IISMA is a mobility scholarship program managed by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (MoECRT), which gives Indonesian undergraduate students the opportunity to study at top partner universities overseas.
Students study one semester abroad in a subject area outside of their major to develop their intercultural communication and leadership skills, experience the host country’s culture, and extend their international networks, in order to become future global-minded leaders in their field of expertise.
This semester, IISMA students studying at the University have come from a number of universities across Indonesia, including Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Bina Nusantara, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas President and Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta.
The students’ will study a diverse range of subjects in courses such as International Business Operations, Cities and Sustainability, Psychology, Empowerment, Gender and Community Development, and Cyber-Politics.
So far, the students have already enjoyed several Australian cultural experiences, including trips to Victor Harbor, Urimbirra Wildlife Park, and Waite Conservation Reserve, and are settling into the relaxed lifestyle Adelaide has to offer.
