New industry collaborations to drive innovative PhD research
The Adelaide Graduate Research School would like to congratulate the University of Adelaide researchers that were successful in Round 3 of the Australian Government’s National Industry PhD Program, announced today.
In collaboration with industry researchers, our academics have secured funding for groundbreaking projects spanning engineering, psychology, and reproductive health:
Professor Ben Cazzolato, Associate Professor Claire Jones, and PhD candidate Scott Jenkin (School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering), collaborating with Armor Australia.
- This project will develop a new method for standardising stab-resistant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), thereby improving safety standards and bolstering Australia's leadership in life protection innovation.
Professor Elaine Fox (School of Psychology), partnering with Brain Vector
- Professor Fox’s project will explore how personalised virtual reality (VR) experiences can stimulate positive emotions, providing a non-pharmaceutical method for treating people diagnosed with clinical depression.
Dr Jessica Grieger (Adelaide Medical School), in collaboration with Repromed
- Dr Grieger’s project will help IVF clinics develop ways to screen the fluid within the women’s ovarian follicles to select healthier eggs for better embryo transfer, to improve pregnancy success rates.
Congratulations to all involved on this well-deserved achievement!
