We would like to highlight the extraordinary leadership of Professor Andre Luiten who has been serving as the director of IPAS since 2014. Under his guidance, the institute has experienced continuous growth in research and successful commercialisation of research outcomes. In line with IPAS's mission to create real-world impact, and following the footsteps of our Founding Director, Professor Tanya Monro AC, Professor Luiten has established IPAS as a leading global photonics institute.

We are proud to announce that Professor Luiten is taking on a new role as IPAS Chief Innovator, which will enable him to use his extensive experience in navigating the complex world of innovation and commercialisation to deliver tangible research outcomes. His start-up venture, QuantX Labs, is a testament to his commitment to translating research into practical solutions.

Simultaneously, we warmly welcome Professor Mark Hutchinson as the Interim Director of IPAS. Professor Hutchinson is a distinguished figure in the School of Biomedicine and Chief Investigator at CNBP. He brings extensive research leadership and networks, having served as the President of Science and Technology Australia, which further positions IPAS for continued growth and impact.

We congratulate Professor Luiten on his new role and welcome Professor Hutchinson. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter of innovation and impact at IPAS.
