Dr Sarah Scholten Crowned SA Weekend Innovator of the Year at The Advertiser Sunday Mail SkyCity Woman of the Year Awards
Last night's The Advertiser Sunday Mail SkyCity Woman of the Year Awards honoured outstanding women across various fields, with Dr Sarah Scholten being crowned the SA Weekend Innovator of the Year.
Dr Scholten, an experimental physicist and STEM leader, received international recognition for her groundbreaking work in precision measurement using light.
Expressing gratitude for the prestigious award, Dr Scholten remarked, "I am truly honoured to be recognised as the first recipient of this esteemed award. It's a testament to the dedication of everyone involved in pushing the boundaries of innovation."
Encouraging young women in STEM, Dr. Scholten emphasised the importance of embracing challenges. "Just go for it. Put yourself out there, don't be afraid. There's a lot of like-minded women out there who are thrilled to have you with them," she stated.
Dr. Scholten graduated with distinction from the University of Adelaide in 2019 and has since been a key member of the university's Precision Measurement Group. Her exceptional achievements include receiving the Women in Innovation SA Award (WINN2023) and being recognised as one of the Superstars of STEM by Science and Technology Australia.
