Avinash Upadhya awarded one of the Robinson Research Institute Step Research Funding
Congratulations to Dr Avinash Upadhya who has been awarded one of the Robinson Research Institute Step Research Funding.
This program supports innovative and impactful projects with up to $40K each. The 2024 initiative aims to advance collaborative research through grant development, co-creation workshops, and stakeholder engagement.
Dr Avinash Upadhya's project will research Non-invasive optical imaging to capture molecular and morphological signatures of advanced maternal age for oocyte and embryo quality assessment. Part of his team are Darren Chow and Tiffany Tan.
This project will integrate what we currently know about metabolic imaging and move towards developing a multimodal label-free optical imaging approach. This approach enables the team to non-invasively assess oocyte and embryo quality, and understand how this changes with age.
We would also like to acknowledge the contributions of research group leaders Associate Professor Kylie Dunning and Professor Kishan Dholakia, whose support and guidance were essential in assisting the research team with the grant application.
We look forward to the significant advancements this research will bring to the field of reproductive health.
