Dusklands at 50 International Conference

The JM Coetzee Centre for Creative Practice in association with the Department of English, Creative Writing and Film hosted an international conference on the 16th and 17th of May to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the publication of JM Coetzee's first novel, Dusklands.

Coetzee Centre hosts gala book launch by poet, novelist and medical doctor, Peter Goldsworthy

On 3 April the Centre hosted a gala book launch of The Cancer Finishing School by poet, novelist and medical doctor, Peter Goldsworthy, in the presence of some 100 guests at the Ern Malley in Stepney.

Masterclass with Dr Christina Thompson

On 15 March Dr Christina Thompson, multi-award winning author and editor of the Harvard Review, gave a masterclass in non-fiction writing and how to draft a book proposal to staff, postgraduate students and members of the JM Coetzee Centre for Creative Practice.

Student performance troupe: Diary of a Magician

The Adelaide Fringe and Festivals are in full swing. Last week a student performance troupe staged an unusual show entitled Diary of a Magician, at the Garage International venue behind the Adelaide Town Hall. The students are all studying at the Graduate Institute of the Performing Arts, Taiwan Normal University in Taipei.
