Staff Appointments to Boards
The University owns a number of controlled entities, and from time to time will establish a new controlled entity. In addition, there are a number of companies or other entities associated with University activities.
The University will sometimes wish to appoint staff members to fill roles as Directors or other board members on the governing body of these entities. This can be a daunting request for staff members, who need to be aware that such a role carries personal duties and responsibilities.
To assist staff members appointed to such Boards, the Legal Services team has developed a short guide on duties of directors and other useful information about insurance and obtaining advice, assistance and training.
