Africa and the Middle East

Offered by Adelaide University’s School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, this tour provides students with an opportunity to understand conservation issues in Southern Africa and biosecurity, ecosystem management and veterinary diseases exotic to Australia. Based in Nelspruit in Mpumalanga Province less than 30 minutes from Kruger National Park, students assist with health checks on wildlife/domestic animals, visit national parks and reserves and provide veterinary support for specific conservation projects. 

Adelaide University works with a diverse range of sponsors across the Middle East and Africa, supporting students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across disciplines including engineering, health, sciences, business, and education. This includes strong engagement with the Australia Awards Scholarships across Africa, funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Sponsored students receive academic and pastoral support throughout their studies, enabling them to succeed at Adelaide University and return home equipped with advanced skills, global perspectives, and professional networks to contribute to their communities and countries. Sponsored students from the region form an integral part of the University’s global community and alumni network, and contribute to enduring collaboration well beyond their time in Australia.
