The Adelaide-Nottingham Alliance (ANA) draws on the capabilities and expertise of Adelaide University and the University of Nottingham (UK) to increase research impact and build a globally connected pipeline of talent, capability and innovation.

With Adelaide and Nottingham’s world-leading strengths in food, sustainability, and health research, collaboration is built around three themes - Global Food Systems, Sustainable Futures, and Intelligent Health.

These themes reflect both institutions’ commitment to address shared global challenges through collaborative, interdisciplinary research and education.

Joint PhD program

The Joint PhD Program is open to prospective PhD students across all disciplines and provides students with access to world-class research facilities and expertise at two globally leading research-intensive universities. Students in the Adelaide–Nottingham Joint PhD program benefit from opportunities to participate in a truly international research experience (with time spent in both Australia and the UK), publish in high-impact journals and contribute to globally relevant research.

Student mobility

Adelaide University has an undergraduate and postgraduate student exchange program with the University of Nottingham, allowing students to undertake a semester or full year abroad as part of their degree. The exchange provides students with the opportunity to experience a world-leading UK institution, strengthen their academic and professional skills, and gain valuable experience in a global learning environment.
