Global collaboration for a more secure, sustainable future.

The partnership between Adelaide University and the University of Surrey (UK) builds on complementary strengths to address complex global challenges with scale, innovation and impact.

Collaboration is built around four themes – Cyber Security, AI, Space, and Sustainability and Energy – with both institutions working together to advance knowledge that supports safer, more resilient and sustainable societies.

Areas of collaboration

Surrey-Adelaide Partnership Fund

The Surrey-Adelaide Partnership Fund provides a mechanism to develop strong research collaboration across the partnership’s four themes. It enables staff to advance joint research initiatives, share expertise, and leverage complementary institutional strengths, while catalysing applications for larger external grants. There are also opportunities for PhD students to be actively involved in funded projects, supporting research training, mobility, and capacity building across both institutions.

Joint research workshops provide a structured forum for researchers from Adelaide University and the University of Surrey to connect, exchange ideas, and develop collaborative research agendas. Aligned to the partnership’s four themes, these workshops are designed to generate new joint projects, support the development of competitive funding proposals, and scale collaborative activity across both institutions.
