The Adelaide University Theatre Guild ('the Guild') is a not-for-profit community theatre company located at Adelaide City Campus East.
The Guild was formed in 1938 and is the second oldest amateur theatre company in South Australia. This longevity in itself is exceptional, but more remarkable is the pivotal role the Guild has had, and continues to have, in the development of both amateur and professional theatre in Adelaide and in Australia.
It is the Guild's intent that each season reflects an enduring focus on our strengths: the courage to embrace the obscure, a commitment to support modern Australian playwrights, and a willingness to work with new talent from our Festival State.
Roles are open to everyone – students, staff, alumni and the general public. You do not need to be associated with Adelaide University to be involved in a Guild production.
For students, the Adelaide University Theatre Guild Student Society is a student-run subdivision of the Guild.
